Real Stories, Real Impact: How Our Clients Thrive with UsMagda Tabac
Client Overview
Magda is a former corporate employee with 12 years of experience in various strategy and planning roles. Despite her success in the corporate environment, training has always been her passion. After becoming certified in the Process Communication Model® (PCM), she transitioned into freelance training in 2018.
Magda specialises in communication and stress management, using applied neuroscience and psychology-based tools. Despite her deep expertise in these areas, she recognised a growing need for something more—something that would not only complement her existing skills but also address personal challenges she had been facing. This led her to Emotional Assertiveness (EA) training, which has since transformed her approach to both her personal and professional life.
Challenges and Issues Before Emotional Assertiveness Training
Before discovering Emotional Assertiveness, Magda had already built a solid reputation as a trainer. However, behind her professional accomplishments, she faced persistent personal and emotional challenges. Magda often found herself reacting with disproportionate anger to relatively minor issues. “I would have gotten annoyed, like 0 to 100 for little situations… I wouldn’t have shown that to the client, but inside, I would have burnt,” she shared, describing how her inner emotional turmoil often clouded her thinking and affected how she approached business relationships.
This issue wasn’t limited to her professional life. Magda also found herself reacting similarly at home, particularly in her relationship with her husband. “The dragon would have been awoken,” she said, explaining how anger would surface rapidly, often masking deeper, unresolved emotions. The stress of managing her freelance business, combined with these emotional patterns, made it challenging to maintain the calm and focus she needed to succeed and build meaningful relationships.
How Emotional Assertiveness Training Solved the Problem
Magda’s decision to pursue Emotional Assertiveness training was driven by both personal and professional motivations. She realised she needed a structured, data-driven approach to understand her emotional reactions better. “I knew I had an issue with cover-up anger… I was getting too angry too fast for little things,” Magda admitted. She felt that the training could provide the tools to help her manage these reactions and understand the underlying emotions driving her responses.
Through the course, Magda learned to recognise the difference between authentic emotions and cover-up emotions, especially when it came to anger. “What we learn in Emotional Assertiveness is that emotions are messengers,” she explained. By paying attention to her body’s physical responses, she began to understand what emotions like anger were truly signalling. “I can understand better now. Before I was just angry, but it was a cover-up anger… I started to listen to my body and analyse what’s behind it.”
This newfound awareness allowed her to hit the “pause button” in moments of frustration, giving herself the space to process emotions before reacting. “Now, I know to press pause. If it’s cover-up anger, I stop and ask myself, what’s hidden behind it? Is it fear or sadness? What message is this emotion giving me?” This practice has drastically reduced the intensity of her reactions both at home and in business settings.
The impact on her personal relationships, particularly with her husband, was immediate. It decreased the number of fights between them and Magda began showing authentic emotions instead. This change in personal behaviour reinforced her belief in the effectiveness of Emotional Assertiveness, motivating her to share her learnings with others.
Opportunities and Growth After Training
Professionally, the certification opened doors to new opportunities for Magda. Shortly after becoming certified, she secured her first Emotional Assertiveness training course—a group of 12 professionals, including agile coaches, who had previously worked with her in PCM training. “They loved it, and it was something very different to what they had done before,” she said. The success of that session led to discussions about more training sessions in the future.
The real magic of The Emotional Assertiveness Model, according to Magda, lies in its simplicity and applicability. “The model is simple and straightforward. After you get the understanding, it becomes something you can explain so easily-the simplicity is powerful,” she said. This simplicity made it easier for her to integrate Emotional Assertiveness into her existing training portfolio.
On a broader level, Magda sees the potential for Emotional Assertiveness training to benefit companies by improving workplace dynamics and reducing conflict. “You can reduce conflicts a lot when you understand what’s behind cover-up emotions like anger,” she noted. This insight has made her more confident in offering Emotional Assertiveness as a valuable tool for teams and organisations looking to foster healthier work environments.
Personally, Magda has also experienced a deep sense of fulfilment from integrating Emotional Assertiveness into her life and work. “It feels like a mission,” she said, describing how helping people understand themselves better has become a core part of her work. “I help people have better relationships—first with themselves, and then with others. And this model helps me do that.”
Conclusion
Magda’s journey through Emotional Assertiveness training has been transformative on both personal and professional levels. The training has provided her with tools to manage her emotions more effectively, reducing conflict in her relationships and enhancing her ability to connect with clients on a deeper level. With newfound emotional awareness, she has expanded her training offerings and strengthened her business, opening up new opportunities for growth and collaboration. As Magda continues to develop her expertise in Emotional Assertiveness, she remains committed to helping others navigate their emotional landscapes, fostering healthier and more authentic relationships in both personal and professional spheres.
